From sustainable practices in culture to stories of migration, identity, and home

9. junij 2026

We begin the second day of the festival with the conference Culture and Sustainability – Where Are We and Where Are We Going?, organized by the Youth Cultural Centre Maribor. The conference creates a space where artists, producers, and cultural organizers can come together. Through presentations of best practices, discussions, and the exchange of experiences, participants explore sustainable approaches and seek concrete solutions that are already transforming the way cultural organizations operate.

The morning will continue with the seminar On the Aesthetics of Accessibility, led by internationally acclaimed choreographer, performer, and researcher Saša Asentić as part of the Cripping Performance II conference. The seminar examines accessibility as an artistic method and encourages reflection on creative practices that move beyond established normative frameworks, expanding the possibilities of the performing arts.

In the evening, three diverse festival experiences await. At Tribuna, on the stage of the Frane Žižek Hall, Diana Anselmo will present Pas Moi, a performance that explores the history of sound recording and reproduction technologies through the perspective of Deaf communities and sign language. Also at Tribuna, in the Ondina Otte Klasinc Hall, the Zagreb Youth Theatre will present Max, Mischa and the Tet Offensive, based on the novel by Johan Harstad—a monumental story of coming of age, migration, memory, and the search for home. The festival evening will conclude at Minoriti with Jure Ivanušič & NORDunk, a concert cabaret and musical-theatrical omnibus of original stories infused with irony, humour, and a nuanced view of the contemporary world. In case of rain, the event will be moved to an alternative venue.
