We are starting competition programme with Sexual Education II.

After the introductory festival days, the main part of the Maribor Theatre Festival, the competitive program, begins tonight. Selector Blaž Lukan has chosen twelve performances by Slovenian producers, taking into account the criteria of context and the questioning of stage expression. The first in the series of performances competing for festival awards is "Sex Education II," a series of five lecture-performances about women's sexual pleasure. These performances illuminate the right to sexual pleasure as a fundamental sexual right within the framework of human rights, from various perspectives and through diverse performative practices. They are based on conversations with women who shared their personal stories, experiences, and difficulties, as well as interviews with experts from various fields.
