Tonight, the festival premiere of the international co-production of Borštnik Meeting - The End of the World in Three Acts
Festival premiere
The End of the World in Three Acts is based on the texts of three authors – Kristina Kegljen's Under the Coat, Katja Gorečan's Activists, and Tijana Grumić's The World Deserves the End of the World – characterized by a feminist and original approach to the issue of violence against women during the pandemic. This contemporary dramatic omnibus explores resistance and female revenge as key common themes, becoming the guiding thread of the entire work. Through these themes, the power of the female experience is depicted from ancient times to the present, from the universal to the narrowly theatrical, reminding us that, with current prevailing values, the end of the world has long since arrived. The production was created as part of the two-year international project "Shadows of the Pandemic," involving the Zagreb Youth Theatre and the Belgrade Drama Theatre, and was directed by the internationally acclaimed director Selma Spahić. The audience in Belgrade and Zagreb gave the play standing ovations, and Croatian critics hailed it as "the theatrical event of the year." Tickets are available for the performances on Wednesday and Thursday. You are invited!
