Commemorating the 70th anniversary of the death of the great German playwright, poet and theatre practitioner, Bertolt Brecht (1898–1956), the round table will be dedicated to new and old translations of Brecht’s plays and their productions on Slovenian stages in recent years – from A Respectable Wedding, Saint Joan of the Stockyards and The Threepenny Opera to the documentary drama Life and Times of Bertolt Brecht. The debate will focus on how to translate, interpret and stage Brecht today and how his theoretical work influences all three.

The event is a part of the programme of literary events co-financed by the Slovenian Book Agency.
